Cherry Chocolate Cobler
   

Instead of using the dough recipe here, I think you could probably use your favorite brownie recipe instead. The dough recipe here is pretty dry, so you might want to leave some of the liquid out of your recipe, if you use it. I like making this 'Double Chocolate' by adding 1/2 cup of chocolate chips to the dough. This addition is optional, and not part of the original recipe I got. You could make it 'Triple Chocolate' by adding 1/4 cup each of chocolate chips and white chocolate chips. You can double the recipe and bake it in a 9x13" pan. The possibilities are truly endless....

                                   

Ingredients
6 oz - Semisweet Chocolate
1 1/2 C - Flour
1/2 C - Sugar
2 t - Baking Powder
1/2 t - Salt
1/4 C - Butter
1/2 C - Semisweet Chocolate Chips (optional)
1/4 C - Milk
1 - Egg
1 (21 oz) - Can Cherry Pie Filling
1/2 C - Nuts, finely chopped



Instructions
  • Preheat oven to 350°F
  • Melt chocolate and allow to cool while preparing the rest of the ingredients.
  • In large bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and butter.
  • Cut in butter until crumbs are the size of large peas.
  • If adding the optional chocolate chips, do so now.
  • Add milk and egg to melted chocolate and mix well.
  • Blend chocolate into flour mixture.
  • Spread cherry pie filling in bottom of 2 quart casserole.
  • Drop chocolate batter randomly over cherries.
  • Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
  • Bake for 40 to 45 minutes.
