Chocolate Syrup Frosting
   

This is a very creamy, soft frosting. If the temperature is not cool where you are making this frosting or where you will be storing or serving your cake, you will probably need to add some powdered sugar. Don't add the optional salt if you use salted butter or margarine. This recipe makes enough frosting for a 2 layer, 9" cake with a little left over.

                                   

Ingredients
1 Stick - Butter, softened
1/2 C - Cocoa Powder, unsweetened
1/2 C - Chocolate Syrup
1 lb - Confectioners Sugar
2 T - Milk
1 t - Vanilla
Dash of Salt (Optional)



Instructions
  • Put the butter, cocoa powder and chocolate syrup in a mixing bowl.
  • Mix on low speed for 1/2 to 1 minute until cocoa is moistened.
  • Scrape down sides of the bowl.
  • Increase mixer speed to medium high and mix until smooth and spreadable.
