Too much salt in a soup or stew? Add cut raw potatoes and discard them once they've cooked and absorbed the salt.

Too much garlic in a soup or stew? Place parsley flakes in a cheesecloth bag and add to the pot until it soaks up the excess garlic.

Too sweet? Add salt or 1 teaspoon of cider vinegar.
